Summary

“El Buen Sabor” is a full-stack project my teammates and I built for a fictional restaurant. The solution combines a customer-facing web app, where users can browse the menu and place orders with ease, with a management system that streamlines internal operations like order tracking and inventory control. The focus was on creating a clean, intuitive interface for customers while giving staff powerful tools to keep the kitchen running smoothly.

My Contribution

As a Frontend Developer and UX/UI Designer, I was in charge of shaping both the look and the flow of the platform. I designed interfaces that felt intuitive and modern, making sure customers could order with ease and staff could manage operations without friction. Then, I brought those designs to life using Next.js, TypeScript, TailwindCSS, and Zustand.

Beyond the code, I focused on aligning user needs with business logic, collaborating actively with the backend team and ensuring every screen had a purpose and every click made sense. My role was all about bridging design and functionality, and turning my team’s ideas into a seamless digital experience.

Key Features

Here are some of the highlights I contributed to during development:

  • UX/UI design crafted in Figma and brought to life in code.
  • 3-step shopping cart and payment gateaway, integrated with MercadoPago’s API.
  • Reusable generic data tables to ensure consistency and avoid duplicated code.
  • Zustand implementation to manage global state and organize contexts.
  • Dynamic multistep forms aligned with complex backend needs while keeping the user journey smooth.

Takeaways

Although the project was fictional, it gave me hands-on experience building a scalable e-commerce platform and ERP system from scratch, preparing me for real-world challenges. With “El Buen Sabor”, I not only discovered new technologies and frameworks, but also learned how to combine them effectively to create a cohesive product.

Most importantly, I grew as a teammate. Working with a group of four people with different mindsets and coding styles taught me when to adapt, when to compromise and when to push, always stepping up and giving my best to help the team reach our goals.
